Hey Guys,
I have a Brux, fast twist(1:7), .338 blank. I'm planning on a S/A 700 or clone. Probably a HTG style stock. And the barrel will finish short: 16" or maybe 18".
The question is: what caliber?
The Whisper based on the 7br case is, I believe, the standard subsonic .338...
The .338 Spectre seems neat also, although I would rather have it in an AR.
I have been leaning towards plain, old .338 Federal. Since it'll be on a .308 length action anyway, I have the room. I could also use it as a short, handy brush gun with lightweight projectiles.
What are your thoughts? Experiences? Tips?
Thank you for your time.

love my 338 spectre 9mm can suppresses well. Punches a 300 grainer thru a telephone pole a 50 yrds. loads easy. But it is in ar platform. I have the 300 whisper in ar and bolt the bolt is soooooo quit it makes me want the spectre in a bolt for hunting puposes

Thanks man. I'm tempted by the spectre in an AR also. However, the bolt gun is going to be first.
