Rifle Scopes What height to choose for NF rings? *Updated*

Hi there!

I am mounting a NXS 5,5-22x50 on a Remington 700 SPS Tactical in an AICS 1.5. I have already mounted on the NF Remington 700 SA, 1-piece 20MOA Base.

I also want the NF Ultralite 30mm rings.

The question is, what hight rings should I buy? I prefer to have the scope low, but no so low that my BC lenscovers won't fit. Also, I recently had a silencer fitted. Now, the silencer is quite long, and also quite thick compared to the barrel. The silencer is a A-Tec TMM4. The silencer builds 160mm on the barrel, and Ø49,5mm. Overall lenght of silencer is 240mm.

The question is, will this interfere with my choice of low rings, should i go with medium just to be on the safe side.

Any advice is appreciated!

EDIT: this post has been edited to reflect the change from 5,5-22x56 to 5,5-22x50 and information regarding silencer.

1" height rings should work just fine for the 56mm objective.

I have mounted quite a few 56mm's with NF .885's. I like a low scope.

I love the snug fit you have there! That is exactly what I was looking for.... Can you fit BC covers on there without making adjustments to the lenscap?

Yes, The BC caps fit just fine. I can take another picture if you need it.

Thats is a sps tactical droped into a H&S 700P stock. Full pic.

Looks good. Nice paint job. You do that?

I was just wondering as my 56mm objectives in 1" height rings have always been closer on my #7 barrels especially with BC caps. So I guess Rassmussen should figure if he plans on rebarreling to a heavier contour down the road. If not then the .885s would work and if so then plan ahead go with the 1".

I textured the stock then sent it off to Matt/Monteboy to have him paint it.

It's being replaced with a HTG stock.

Thought it was an HTG from the first pic when I saw the colors as they look like my HTG

That's just mean Rob, you don't know how in love with that stock I am.
Yeah thus far the plan is to sell the H&S stock buy the HTG, bed it for now. Then hopefully this spring send it off to Mr.Roscoe for a new barrel and blue printing.
