What I would have missed without the "Hide" Sound off..

I've shot since I can remember, done a few things I am proud of... Shot with others, pros and just good shots... got my son shooting ELR by 9, then onto winning a few matches and now 17.. Yet, it would be less fulfilling and fun if it wasn't for a few things I've seen on the Hide..

Hell, with Mile High alone, I have spent many thousands of $ as well as with many other excellent Hide vendors. I would not have known about without these guys without the Hide. I sure hope the Hide can muster enough enthusiasm to recover from the Scout debacle.... Scout was really featureless and yet we hung in. Now that Tapatalk is back and with better search functions, I hope people manage to switch back...

Sorry, a long trail run and a few beers and I am feeling nostalgic...

Hope a few of you sound off and help make this place great again...

Awesome words. I have no doubt it will. The dust is still settling and everything, and a few of the senior members have shown back up since as well - definitely a good start.

As enthusiastic as Frank stays concerning his site and marksmanship in general, there will be no shortage of content or discussion in future. The ideal is for us to stay as enthusiastic ourselves - through the forum.

Right on Diver. I will do everything I can in the coming weeks to post up content that I hope will be useful. For a long time I have benefited from the Hide (meaning the experience of Frank and so many members) and vendors. I owe a debt to lots of folks on here. Some us may get weary of seeing the endless stream of "what is the definitive answer for xxx piece of equipment", or "what is parallax", or "can I fire-form 50 BMG from Eley Tenex", etc. But when you are new these are questions you need answered and I don't see the content I saw years ago.

Guys like Rob01 are pure gold and we need more ambassadors like him. I hope Greg shows up as prominently as he once did, and CraigWY (who knows a thing or two about getting in and out of a sling), and others to start up posting their valuable and sage advice. There are others who may be a bit inflammatory (Orkan, the friggin witch doctor of coyote hunting) but bring encyclopedic knowledge with them. Vendors like LRI offered up content on Scout, with pics, that showed how rifles are crafted and some things they were experimenting with. SAC has had all sorts of videos on their web site for how various bits of machining were accomplished and it would be cool of Mr Gordon were to post those up (possible in a sticky, along with LRI and others?) to show us how they work their magic. If you have never seen this stuff it is very difficult to imagine it just from reading. I mean, what the hell is a dial indicator and how in the world does someone time a barrel?

I use to lurk on the old site, I joined the scout site and now back full circle. I'm right back here were it all started! Scout didn't bug me as much as other members here. I just didn't like the pop up adds. Rob1 and LowLight are my heros! It's nice to have someone to look up too that doesn't come off as cocky or condescending. They just state the facts and thats all there is to it. I do have to tip my hat to the hide. It helps to have a guiding light right at my finger tips. Thanks for everything, your one of a kind. The BEST!!!!!

Without SH, I'd still be thinking that a Leupold Mk4 and a R700 was the end all be all of rifle shooting. And I'd probably have spent less money! Lol, I love the site and all of its quirks. It has truly opened my eyes to the entire industry of rifle shooting amd further engrossed my passion for precision rifle shooting!

Very thankful for the smiths and others on here who provide such a wealth of information, to the outstanding CS of guys like DaveHotel and others.
