What is temperature sensitivity powder?

Can someone please explain what temperature sensitivity is?

I was thinking it was like if I worked up a max load in cold conditions that on a really hot day it might push me over the threshold. Is this correct?

more or less. When a powder is temperature insensitive, it means that on a balls ass freezing day its the same or very very close to the same on a hot as hell day.

Most of the data that i've seen on this leaves Varget the undisputed winner on this matter. I've switched to see how I like it.

depending on what you are shooting id look at all the hodgen extream powders.

A powder is temperature insensitive when the firing pressure is the same in freezing temperatures as it is in 100dF heat.

A powder is temperature sensitive when the above is not the case.
