What is the largest diameter barrel for savage 10?

Any one know what the largest diameter barrel contour is available as a replacement for a savage 10. It is not a target action so it is a small shank action. I have always been curious. Im new to savage rifles.

Bull barrels are 1.060" at the breech end and 1" at the muzzle

Any idea of where to get a good one?
I have found a e.r. shaw but it is a varmint contour. I am looking for somthing like you listed above.

A four inch diameter will work, but has to be relieved for the NUT on the other end. JMHO

And, seriously,...a Pac-Nor barrel will do you proud. Call them. They are very friendly and knowledgeable. JMHO

I have made them in straight 1.060" , straight 1.20", and straight 1.25". You can do anything if you know how. I even made a same diameter smooth nut as the barrel.

1.20 would be sweet. I take it you just need a blank, a leigth and some serious machining skills. It would be nice just to have the knowledge and the know how to do somthing like that. How is that smooth nut isthat a good idea. They look alot nicer.

PAC nor made a 30"Stainless barrel with 1.1" straight bull barrel for my savage 300win mag. It shot great, and there was a gain of 100 fps over the stock barrel.

If you eliminate the nut and shoulder and headspace is standard with other actions, you can go as big as you want. Savage uses a nut from the factory but you're not forever wedded to using one.

there are bunches of makers with prefit savage barrels. walther-lothar, kreiger, shilen, mcgowen, and plenty of others that will make you what you want. just search before you take anyones advice
