Ok been to the range twice now and have shot 2 identical loads only thing I change was the bullet. And 2 different loads both .010 off the lands. Just not sure if I want my gun to be a single shot or load from the mag. I think ROB01 has two different loads one from mag and one off the lands. so here are my pics and I am wanting accuracy but Velocity is a very close second. I don't have the #'s for all loads that I tested. but I will post what I got. Looking for a 1 load that does it all. trying to keep it simple for this gun

Re: What loading should I go with.

If you want to mag load I would not worry at all about the first two targets.

On the bottom two, 43 grains looks very good, as does 44.5 grains.

I would try: 42.8, 43.0, 43.2 low node, and 44.3, 44.5, 44.7 high node and run it again.

are we talking both bottom targets or the the 178Amax target?

Re: What loading should I go with.

Clos,

Both targets, high and low node, on both, same charges, if your have the components. If you have to chose just one bullet to work with, then the 178 A-max, seems the better of the two.

Re: What loading should I go with.

that's the exact same loads for my 700. 43.2 low 44.5 high.
with Hornady brass an BR-2s.

Re: What loading should I go with.

I dont run the 175/178 series but those I know that do like 44 varget in a Winchester case around 2.82" and primer can vary.

I dont know too many who cant swap good shooting Amax ammo from rifle to rifle, in other words the whole sensitive to a paticular rifle or a peculiar shooter syndrome doesnt affect them.

Good Shooting

Well loaded up the above rounds and went to the range last night. After helping my dad move and going to a birthday party I came home and loaded them up and went to the range. I think I should have waited for another time as I kept yawning and my concentration was not there I felt. but I went for it anyways. I am gonna go with the 178Amax and load it to 44.5. I may try 44.6 and 44.9 and out of those 3 on a good day with my full attention.
