Should I wait until September(according to my local gun shop) to get the new SPS Tactical in .308Win with threaded muzzle and 1 in 10 twist rate or should I just get the current one with 1 in 12 twist rate? Are there any real advantages/disadvantages between the 2 rifles in stock form?

The 1-10" will stabilize the heavier bullets better, but I have not heard of any issues stabilizing the 175 grain out of a 20" 1-12.
Do you plan on buying a can? Or, do you want the cool factor, when you go to the range and telling people "Yeah, it's threaded for a can", then you can wait.
It is an interesting package, don't know if you will see any real benefit though.
