.300 win Mag for little British deer? And for small game? “Woah, Nigel, careful not to vaporize that bunny too badly!!!”

What are they afraid of besides tail rotors???? .300 Win Mag will drop an elephant…. Small game? Careful of that shrew Havisham. Pointy teeth…

Wow.

.375 is medium bore, so of course a .30 is small and medium game ol' chap.

A 300 Mag might drop an elephant, if the country's game department would let you use it.
Stop being such a poor Nigel and pick up a nice double.

.300WM is pretty hefty, but the "deer" in England aren't what we would call "deer". Six species of deer are living wild in Great Britain: Red deer, roe deer, fallow deer, sika deer, Reeve's Muntjac, and Chinese water deer. Red Deer below.

I have seen 800lb Red Stag bulls early in the morning, they are flighty, so I doubt less than 200 yards is doable, that was in Ireland. Also the Japanese Sika Deer in Ireland, they are frail, thin skinned and would fall prey to a well placed arrow, 300WM would vaporize them, both in Killarney National Park, understand they are only hunted for herd thinning and off tourist season.

I felt silly using a 300 win mag on whitetails, and I’m pretty sure they’re bigger than most deer in England. Only seems practical for red deer, but per threads I’ve seen on here, all you need is a 243 for elk and anyone who says otherwise is silly
