I worked up loads for a 260 I no longer have. I have 100rds of the prefered load for that rifle. I got a new 260 and am comteplating shooting these in it. I will have to seat the bullets a little deaper to fit in the mag. Its that or pull them all and start over. Would it hurt to try them in the new rifle? The worry is they at published max which is what the other rifle shot best.

pull them no need to take a chance. If they hadn't been max then I'd say go for it.But they are and seating them down will only cause more pressure ( not safe for and untested rifel )

Re: What to do with some reloads?

I'd pull them and use the components; primed brass, powder, and bullets to work up the new load for your new rifle. It'll take about what, half an hour, to pull a hundred bullets and pour the powder in to a clean container?

You might work up to the same load maybe start by pulling half of them.

dude, seriously?? shoot one and see what happens, the primer may flatten so shoot them it the primer comes off the case then pull the bullets and reload again. I won't explode on you bro.

Re: What to do with some reloads?

Make up some test loads that work up to the hot loads. You may get lucky and find out they are just fine. If not, you will have done the safe and responsible load work up that you need for each rifle anyhow.

I am waiting to get out to the range to test some 308 loads in two rifles...160 test loads of various charges and seating depths. There really isn't a good shortcut to doing things right.
