Gentlemen,

On April 11, 2011 I placed an order w/Rainier Arms for nearly $1100.00. That order has failed to show up (I'm only 2 hours away by car) and the USPS tracking number that Rainier gave me only brings up the following:

Class: Priority Mail®
Service(s): Signature Confirmation™
Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on April 12, 2011 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

After speaking w/Rainier several times they stated that they have opened a claim on my behalf but ultimately I have to deal with the USPS and that they're not responsible. After speaking with the postmaster here in town, he stated since Rainier failed to purchase insurance that I have no claim but that he'd try and locate the package.

I have always have had very positive things to say about Rainier Arms up until now but I think I'm done dealing locally and taking my business elsewhere (more than 6k this first quarter alone). King County Small Claims, here I come....

Who knows, maybe the package will eventually show up, but how long am I supposed to be patient?

Addendum:
Paul Hwang from Rainier emailed me and asked me to be patient until May 7th, after that if the package has not been found that he'd work with me on replacing my parts. How about just refunding my money? I'll keep this updated.

Addendum 2:
Spoke with Paul Hwang on the phone, he has promised to take care of me if it doesn't show up by May 7th. I asked what that meant and he finally stated that he'd refund my money or replace my parts. Fair enough, that's all I have wanted to hear from the start.

Re: What to do?

This sort of thing happens all the time(with all retailers) don't worry Rainier Arms will take care of you. They go through a procedure to make sure that it is lost and when that is confirmed Rainier will redo the order. This happens to me all the time as some body who is a handler in SLC steals all my shit.

Re: What to do?

Man feel for you! I have no idea just made a call today to my attorney about a issue I have with Lawton machine. Waiting on the attorney to call back. Hopefully a registered letter will take care of my problem.
Good luck hope you get it straightened out.

I purposely chose to do business locally for the fast shipping and in the hope that if something like this happened that it would be handled better. I'm done doing that and with the King County Sales tax of 9.5%. I've even voiced my opinion here about Rainier in the past, always positive so I hope they do come around. This is actually the 3rd order in a row that something was messed up or left out...now not even showing up.

Re: What to do?

Here's what worked for a buddy of mine.

He told the USPS (cause those fvckers lose everything but bills), that what they lost, or what one of their employees "misplaced" was a registered firearm and that if he was reporting it to the BATFE.

The gun parts showed up in 3 days..

I'm not saying this will work, but it worked for him.

Re: What to do?

I ordered some stuff from Rainier a few days ago and they sent me the wrong tracking number. I emailed them and they sent me the right one and said they've been having some computer info problems. So I'm sure that didn't help your shipment any or the clowns at ups.
