I got an spr style ar that I've just finished. I put the geissele dmr trigger in it. This is the first geissele I've ever had. It is horrible. Ive tried to adjust it and had no luck. The first stage is fine but the second is mushy. There is a lot of creep in the second stage. All my rock river national match triggers seem much better than this. Sorry to rant but I'm pissed that the most I've ever spent on a trigger and its only better than the milspec gi. Ill be contacting geissele to send it back. Any suggestions on a different trigger

Ok...stupid question time, but since you didn't mention it...I have to ask: What, SPECIFICALLY, did you do in terms of trying "to adjust it" before coming to the conclusion that your trigger is otherwise not right?

I'm not saying that its your fault or error in getting the trigger setup properly, but it certainly wouldn't be the first time I've seen any number of different variations on the HS NM triggers completely buggered up to the point that I just start over from ground zero and rework the trigger/sear adjustments all from scratch. Some people just should NEVER own adjustable triggers!! ;) I have owned as well as worked on/installed/setup MANY Geissele triggers of all models over the last couple years and I have never encountered a single example in the HS NM lineup (or even the non-adjustable models for that matter) that could be described as having "a lot of creep" in any way, shape or form.

With that said, however, its a mechanical device, designed and built by man, and sometimes @#$% happens. If you have attempted to adjust the trigger/sear per Bill's specs/instructions and it is still suffering from what you deem to be "a lot of creep int he second stage" then get in touch with CS at Geissele at (610) 272-2060, discuss your concerns/problems, and see what you can get straight from the horse's mouth. It won't be an issue to get the trigger looked at, replaced, etc. as needed as the customer service from Geissele is second to NONE! Give Geissele a chance to "make it right" for you and if after that you get a trigger replacement that you still deem to be unsatisfactory to you/for your purposes, consider alternatives at that point, but don't throw in the towel just yet.

Watch this install video and follow Bill's instructions...something is definitely off w/your adjustments. The Geissele High Speed Series of AR triggers are the best on the market period. I'll even go as far as saying they're better than a ton of bolt gun triggers out there.

if you adj the pull on the first stage with the hammer cocked take up the pull on the first stage with finger, an now move the fire selector into safe if it moves the trigger it's to close, if the trigger can be pulled more it needs to touch with out any movement .

Getting off topic here but now I'm curious... what lube does that trigger ship with?

You're doing it wrong.

okay I have watched the videos. I'm not one to work or stone triggers but I have installed and adjusted many others and never had a problem. I have adjusted it as instructions say and just can't get rid of the creep in the second stage. I have not contacted geissele yet. Maybe I've just come off wrong but I was upset that the first time I spent the money on a geissele trigger it didnt feel good out of the box and I've spent more time trying to adjust than I've ever spent before on another trigger and I'm still not happy. Ive not given up im just pissed thats all. Ive kept record of the adjustment on how it came. Gonna put it back to factory and follow instructions again to see what results I get. Maybe I missed something

No worries man - we're here to help. This is the 1st time I've ever heard of a problem with a Geissele High Speed trigger. I'm not saying the trigger can't be screwed up or, defective as it can be. However, this would be a first in thousands of reviews.

I own 8 Geissele triggers, including 2 High Speed series - therefore, I'm speaking from experience as well...FWIW. Keep us posted and let us know how it turns out.

And I have a nice new RRA National Match trigger - the 'Varmint' model with the lighter 3.5lb pull weight of the two NM triggers - here if you'd like to trade. I'm always happy to help especially when a Geissele is involved. :) Clearly, I'd be throwing some cash your way as well. Lmk if you're interested....

I would be calling Geissele.
They will make it right.
Imagining a Hi Speed as a poor trigger is something I can't even comprehend.
I have several Geissele triggers most all SSA-E but the two builds with Hi Speed's are fantastic.

Did you adjust it as per the instructions? If so, you should have adjusted the set screw enough to "lose" the 2nd stage prior to dialing it back in. If you 2nd stage is mushy, you didn't do this step.

The Hi speed Match and DMR triggers are the best money can buy. I would lean towards user error before calling out gieselle.

If you adjusted it, I would bet 99% its not the trigger. I don't even touch them out of the pack, they are already set perfect.

A new trigger won't fix user error.

If you like the RRA and do not like the Geissele, you might try an AR-Gold. Just because someone else likes a trigger does not mean you have to also. Triggers and comps on AR are relatively subjective based on end use and shooting style.

AR Gold or Wilson TTU. If this is for .223, Gold should be good to go. If this is for .308, I'd recommend the Wilson over the Gold. I haven't tried a Geissele I've really liked or loved either (I've tried most of the) and I can empathize with the OP's disappointment as I had a similar experience with a Geissele S3G.

Sorry have not been on here for a few. Been busy with work and family. I did try to it again and got the same results. I dont have a scale to know the pull weight but it seems about right for my application but the 2nd stage feels as if it has a different amount of Creep with each pull. Gonna call geissele tomorrow.

Try pulling the safety out and seeing if it does the same thing. These triggers are wider and sometimes you need to shave the sides of the safety down Sometimes just switching to a different safety will work also. This has happened to me and is stated in the directions I'm actually fairly confident after thinking about it that this is the issue

I did read that in the instructions and tried to pay attention to twhirl installing. It appears to be ok but I guess I can pull it out and see if there is wear from rubbing

Did you get to the point where you completely lose the 2nd stage? It will literally go from the light first stage to bang without notice.

Seekins billet lower

Creep in the 2nd stage implies excess sear engagement.

At the point where you LOSE the 2nd stage, turn the sear adjustment screw IN (clockwise) in 1/8 (little is better) turn increments cocking the hammer after every turn and firing. There will be a time where you'll pull slowly through the 1st stage and rest on the 2nd and if you let off your finger the trigger will "stick" for a little while before returning to its original position. Continue turning the sear adjustment screw IN (little is better) until the "sticking" is gone. Hope that helps.

Huber is my favorite of all the 2 stage setups and John Huber is 100% in my book!

When my end comes, I wish it to come to me while I fight for my family's rights.

Buy a Timney 3lb drop in single stage I recommend most people I know to stay away from adjustable triggers. They will always need readjusting. The more you shoot over time, the more it will fall out of "alignment". Just my 2 cents.

I have a timney on a varmint rifle. It does ok*but I much prefer the JP single stage. In this build I was needing a 2-stage.

I pulled it out for the third time and I guess I did something different cause the creep is gone now. The safety was not an issue. I say that it is acceptable. I still have the feeling that i can't say I'd buy another. It does feel good but not $280 good. Ive had good luck with the rock river nm triggers and they are very affordable.
