Interested in buying a scope for a new gun, the gun will be mainly used for shooting long range steel and want to try to get more into prs type stuff, i want one in the 5-25 power range, FFP, I want to spend around 2k, there’s lots of nice used ones so thats the route I want to go, but I have never looked through any of them except the ATACR. I Also like the price of the Leupold Mark5, I see a lot of khales, nightforce, Leupolds, any others and which one?

Razor Gen II or Athlon Cronus BTR Gen2, both will be in that $1500 range and are excellent choices. I have a couple of both and both are excellent but I use my Cronus BTR's more because I prefer the small floating center dot reticle to anything else.

The Cronus is another excellent value
I’ve seen them new for well under 1500$ recently.

If you arent picky on the floating dot reticle reach out to Doug @gr8fuldoug they are blowing the Athlon Cronus BTR out for $1100-$1200.... If you want a Athlon Cronus BTR Gen2 and want the floating center dot reticle Doug has them listed in the $1500 range...

Floating center dot is nice, I will look into the Athlon also.

I love the floating center dot. I have 2 Gen2 Razors with EBR2C reticles and 4-5 Athlons. I always grab the Cronus BTR with the APRS1 reticle because I just love that reticle more. Side by side, I think they are identical glass wise (I believe they are both LOW glass) but the edge goes to the Athlon reticle.

Both have amazing customer service.. I have not had any issues with all my Athlons but I did damage a Cronus BTR that was my fault. Rifle fell off a bench 4' off the ground onto the sunshade.... Bent it up good to the point it wouldnt screw off the scope. I reached out to Athlon, they had me ship it in and said it was all covered under their unconditional lifetime warranty. It was received back in 1 week with the damaged sunshade removed, the scope put through multiple test machines which it came back with a test report all PASSED and a brand new sunshade. Damn good CS.
