the sad part is that at least half of those guys lived. hellfires are really poor antipersonell munitions.

Ok, so I gotta ask.... was it the 'top half' or the 'bottom half'? Or the 'left half' or the 'right half'? And either way,,, who gives a shit if only 'half' of them lived. They won't live long with only 'half' of them together; they'll bleed out right quick, right?... and that's an AWESOME thing, isn't it?

c'mon... that was funny. If the hellfire isn't good enough for the job, switch to JDAM, or MOAB, or hell, do the job right and GO NUKE. Make our boys (and girls) jobs/efforts worth the cost!

There's a video on here somewhere a year or so back of Apache's offering support to some SF troops that were getting overrun and/or flanked by taliban. When they ran out of 30mm, they requested to use Hellfire missiles and got the okay.

Now I could swear this one guy near the end of the video was carrying a stolen Javelin missile --looked JUST like one. Doesn't matter though, it got blown to shit when the Hellfire hit --but not before it hit the fucker RIGHT IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD!!! Yeah, a head shot with a big ass missile at night. It blew up at his feet and disintegrated him instantly. So from an infantryman's perspective, it looked like a killer AP round to me, albeit a costly one.

I played it frame by frame on a 52" screen and zoomed in, and sure enough, it impacted his head before the ground. I don't know if it was intentional, it may have been because you gotta aim at something and leading in order to hit in front of him would be ideal, but who knows? Only the pilot.

I heard that the AC-130 gunship can put the 105mm round into a garbage can from it's firing positing in the air at considerable distance. Pretty amazing.

Modern lasers and GPS can make some pretty accurate systems too.

Was the video in black and white and the guy was running a long some type of ditch?
