I am looking at downsizing my collection. If someone could give me a ballpark figure on this I would appreciate it. Its a police MLR in 338 lapua. It has a Callahan recoil lug, badger bolt knob, badger 20 moa steel rail and a versapod. It has a vortex viper 6.5-20x50 mil dot in Burris tactical rings. I am willing to include brass bullets powder primers and dies. I have never shot it for groups but have banged the gongs out to 900. Thanks in advance.

I have seen a few listed in New or very very low round counts in the $1400-1600 range for just the rifle.
These also seem to be listed for a long time.
That is private sales.

Retail is $1800+ from the looks of things.

They don't seem to have much of a market.
Ammo cost and recoil scare people.
I think that there are more rifles then people to buy them.
Wasn't there some controversy on a 700 being up to a 338 and some QC issues with the early ones?
I know they came with different triggers.

All that said, I happen to be casually looking for a deal on one....

Theres no qc issues with these.. theyre amazing rifles! And anyone buying a 338 can afford the ammo otherwise theyre just tire kicking. I just finished my new rig based on that exact rifle with alot of upgrades of course.. check it out!

Its a rifle, fit and finish on it is great. I own over half a dozen 700's and 3 338 lm's. I have had zero issues with 338 lm in a 700 even with hot heavy loads. Recoil is surprisingly light for the caliber and ammo cost is less than match 308 win if you handload.

Nice rifle flea, I like what you did with it. I have a xcr lrt in 300 Wm and one in 338 lm I am building. I picked up this one as a truck gun beater.

Thanx Buddy... Thats awesome, I wish I can own more. This is just my second R700 and I have been very happy with them. Theyre tops in my book!

They are pretty solid and easy to make accurate. Unfortunately quality has been suffering lately. My 338 xcr came with a bolt that was poorly finished and I had a 300 rum sps come from the factory without a extractor.

You know I hear these horror stories yet I've never actually seen them and therefore I wouldn't say that I don't believe that Remington has quality issues but I guess it's possible but I've never seen it. It sucks it has happened to you tho.

Buy enough of any product and you will eventually get one with a issue or 2. Remington fixed me right up both times.

True that, Happened to me with Sig Sauer. I buy alot of theirs but once again like you said, they made it right and it disnt affect the performance one bit ita just a slighr waste of time but as they say, shit happens!
