Especially those with custom actions known for having tight clearance. Hopefully soon, I'll have a Defiance action with nitride bolt and Cerakote action body.

On my Bergara and other rifles, I like to use CherryBalmz "Bolt Balm" or even my homebrew AR lube (synthetic grease / synthetic oil mix). Curious if you think grease is a bad idea or if I should use a thin oil?

Thanks.

Where did you even find that? And do you actually use it? Or keep it as a conversation piece?

I thought that stuff was impossible to buy/sell nowadays. Like rhino horn. Only available in the darkest alleys of Chinatown.

I manufacture and milk each donor drop. I have a right arm like Popeye.

Ebay.

Bought two bottles from a case a guy found in Maine.

Its going to be my 1911 slide oil of choice and occasionally mixed with balsamic for salads.

I spray my whole bolt with Hornady One Shot Gun Cleaner/Lube and then put a small amount of grease on the back of the lugs. When sending the bolt home and dropping handle hold the trigger in so the grease has less pressure and spreads out a little easier.

So in all seriousness... Hornady One Shot on the bolt with Lucas synthetic grease on the lugs and cocking ramp. I'll also use One Shot to flush out the trigger group every now and again.

1-2 drops of Lucas synthetic gun oil for rust proofing.

Very light smear of gorilla grease on bolt lugs.

Mobil 1 0w-40 for the AR as that's what my truck lives on so I always have some available.

Side note, if your gun won't run you're only a truck dipstick away from some lube.
