Maggie’s What's Your View II

Got the area excavated then got 1500 lbs of pre mix in position, dragged my cement mixer out and found the tires flat, blew up the first one no problems, second one the tube let go. Lost an hour getting a new tube and fitting it, good job I bought two as the first one blew when I was inflating it. Got it mobile then found it did not fit through the gap to the area I needed to use it. Got Pam to help and we managed to balance it on one wheel and fit through the gap. Now approaching 7 30 pm here, Bourbon / Bacardi o'clock. If we had a hot tub it would be really appreciated about now.

Finally had the Moons align. Been trying to get some video of Animals close to the road at night when I come home. Lucky to see a number of pretty decent ones from time to time. Just hard to gett'em close enough to get a decent video. Well not tonight.

Gotta couple Cows next to the road that ran like hell. They knew what time it was. The second vid is about a mile and half down the road. There's a slough on the left, the Naselle River on the right. They Cock Block themselves in there all the time. Anyhow, the 1st Bull has his first year bone, can barely see it. Like an idiot, he just stands there stunned. The 2nd Bull is a forked horn with eyeguards. He too just walks into the light, then he hauls ass through the slough. Shoulda had a spot light to get that. :ROFLMAO:

Not a helluva lot to do for the approximately 40 minute drive each way. Don't usually see anyone on the way home, but Critters. ? Really wanna get this one Bull, and a dandy Buck, on video. I know it ain't gonna happen, but it might. ?

My view for 4 more weeks......?

Was grabbing a water bottle on the raft right before we launched down the river a couple weekends ago, lost balance and fell on my hand, bending thumb back. Heard the crack.....
Anyways, just a small, non displaced fracture. It does go into an articular surface in the second knuckle, so have to be careful it doesnt move or it will require surgery.

BTW, we still went rafting down 4.5 miles if whitewater after it happened. ?

Literal money holes.

Two cut and installed.
@Bender

You putting those egress windows in yourself?

Not near the money hole of paying someone to do it. Got a bid once. Crapped myself when I saw their numbers. Went and rented the cement saw and did it myself. About 20% of the $ and a couple fun days.
Yeah, got a bid for $4000 a window from local residential contractors for complete instal. So I asked him just to cut the holes and he gets offended and says $2000 a window just to cut the holes, I tell him that’s insane but he wouldn’t budge on price. So having been a construction superintendent, I knew how to skin cats, I called an industrial concrete cutting company that charges by the foot, they are in Ft Collins 45 minutes south of me, it was less expensive to hire them AND pay them travel time to cut the holes. I got a bid for $400 for both holes. I even called the local guy back and offer him a chance to match the offer. He said he wouldn’t budge. Lmao. So little Mexican guy shows up and cuts in both windows after I had dug the holes. Took him 30 minutes to do both holes.

So I’m about $2000 for everything in both windows.

But now my niece who lives with us during college can have a safe egress window.

I’m not familiar with basements so forgive my ignorance, is there a drain in that hole to keep water out ?

Just gravel under the window well. It doesn’t get that wet here. Window well sealed on edges where galvanized steel meets concrete. Our water table here is very deep. 700-900ft water wells.

Had a lot of dudes come in the ER on Sat and Sun AM with boxer fractures.
“I fell”

Then admitted to punching a wall or door, a few in actual fights.

Not great and punching a wall or door is better than an assault charge.
Always make the other guy punch first!

I used to punch my pillow or bed when married to my ex. That woman had a special set of skills to be a never-ending antagonist.
And would taunt me when I would calmly say “Im not dealing with you right now” and walk away.

I was in high school at that time. Broke my thumb during football. Boxer fracture was a locker later in the year. And an engine piston dropped on my hand in he shop one day.

Well that's good and all but what does the rest look like?

Fork it up.

Nice!
How long does it take for setup or dismantled for transport on something like that?
Looks like a lot of work.

Lunch, believe or not.
The nearby dairy was devastated by storm damage a few months ago. From the ruins rose a new approach and some fresh ideas, including their new creamery on a busy highway. So far it's been a huge success.
They're busy adding a new kitchen to help keep the traffic flowing through as we get into Fall and Winter.

A spur of the moment shot I took at while looking over some plants at Lowes.

The fish weren't biting, so I just had a beer instead.

The millet is much greener than the grass these days. Last week's heat took a toll.

Ahhh, where are the #10 set screws for the bezel on the wheelhouse sling arm, you know, that thingamacallit that throws the colored lights way up there ? ???????

I used to work for an electric company gathering and delivering supplies to job sites. There was a guy that would call in orders for “sticky onny standy uppies” emt braces, or “poundy onny hangy downies” threaded concrete anchors. Made for an interesting first couple months.

Spent the morning with my son and my parents. Afternoon was swimming at the fianceé parents.
Came home for a movie and bath.

When he was napping (rare now days)I was changing the front marker light on my dads 99 f250. Stupid thing shatter as soon as I touched it. Always sucks to dig pieces out of the socket.
