Miss Lori’s view this afternoon. Derecho blew out the attic vent. I put it back in right away within the first week or so, however, the the next strong wind blew it out again. This time it got screwed in place. I no longer care for ladders or heights. Dad used to say, be careful up there, that’s not high enough to kill you. This is the deck I shoot off of.

Grouse hunting in Maine last week ... saw more moose than grouse unfortunately.

I have a strange desire to be in the woods with the cold air.

I have finally smartened up and accumulated enough cold weather gear that Im wanting to put my gear to the test, hiking, snow shoeing, shooting.........

from work this week 3038e mice got the main harness and engine harness. 18 hour job I’m done at 16 first time working on this tractor. That includes fixing one sensor they chewed up. Diag and fixing the new harness. The fuel pump wasn’t coming on the new harness had the red and black wrong in the connector.
The main runs from the top of the radiator to the rops . They didn’t damage the headlights or tail lights wires.

not too bad actually.....we were at Ft Wetherill in Jamestown and water was reading 53 degrees....practically bathwater compared to the temps we get in February

Oh very good.

I thought you were a little further north not that the water up here I would expect to be much lower than 53.

Google tells me Portsmouth NH is 49' right now.

So, the youngest daughter sends me a text telling me her boyfriend of 3 years got her an extra special early Christmas gift. Ok, she has my interest....

Then asks if I want to see it. Uuuuuuuh Ok.......😐

5 minutes go by with no response then this pic shows up....

I have several of those furball grandkids, both feline and canine. The two legged versions are Much Higher maintanance, but in the long run are a lot more fun.

Today was post OP day #14 for the knee, paid a visit to the surgeons office. The nurse popped out the staples and gave the incision a clean bill of health. The P. A. who sat in during the exam discussed treatment and therapy going forward and thoughts on re-work on the other knee. Most likely Mid January 2021. He also printed out my post op xrays.

Left is a side view, right is frontal. The gaps between the inserts is the plastic that replaces the cartilage. Because there was more bone removed this second time the plastic gliders are a little thicker than normal. No matter, everything looks good. I have voluntarily cut way back on the oxycodone, use it mostly as a sleep aid to get through the night. We've had some beautiful snow free weather up here, makes for great walking/hobbling afternoons.

Also made a fast hobble through the Fargo Scheels store before the exam, my timing was perfect. Just as I hit the ammo department a young clerk was restocking with .22 LR. Scored 2x325 boxes of Fed 36 gr. HP's. Can cross two of the son in laws off the shopping list.

It was a good day, long but ok. Good enough I put some extra raisins in the supper oatmeal. Living on the wild side.

@Nodakplowboy - darn glad you are doing well. A store trip 14 days post op is pretty stinking good.
Easing off those pain meds is key. So may people wanna be pain free. That just doesn't happen for a bit. But, it will!!

@Mr. Zick - I didn't know you were a Jolly Volly (or are you pro and just have a side gig?)
Thats a heck of a grant, SCBAs are not a cheap item.

Heads up HIDERS, Give Firehouse some love with your lunch/dining choices if you can. That is some awesome return to the community. Many many thousands of dollars.

I have a pair of super nice size 9.5 leather structure boots I would love to gift to someone. Bought right before I became a dad and my days of FD were finished (for now). Be at least 10 years till I can get outta here to a small town and do it again, so would love to pass them on if you or someone you know could benefit.

Sunday afternoon.
It’s fun watching him hang stuff I hung when I was his age.
I have a few of my grandparents on the tree. The broken one with a paper clip stuck in it to hold the hook on is one of my favorite. I know my grandfather did it.
