I have an older Remington 700 ADL 30-06 that a buddy gave me. It's a nice gun but somewhere along the way, someone lost the bolt. Where can I pick up a replacement bolt for this rifle .... without mortgaging my home. I've seen some on the net, but they want like almost 400 bucks for the bolt alone. I can buy a whole new rifle for 700 bucks.

Re: Where Can I Get A Replacement Bolt???

I already spoke with Pacific Tool. They actually have a reasonable bolt for just under 200 dollars. I just wondered if there were any others out there to choose from. The only ones I found were like 400 bucks.

I appreciate the links. The first one is nice, but I can get a new one from Pacific for less. The second one is rediculous. It's old and rusty and the auction starts at 200. That guy is insane.

Anyway, I figure I'll end up going with Pacific. I know they are trustworthy and have great customer service. Wish I could find a stock take off that someone wants to get rid of for cheap.

Going with PTG is a good choice however you will need to be very specific. Their bolts come with longer bolt lugs and in most cases will not even close on a factory barrel.

The bolts are made to fit into a new build so all critical dimensions can be controlled.

Just be advised this is not a plug and play option. You might get lucky but don't count on it. You would have better luck with a factory bolt working in a factory rifle.

If you go with the PTG if might cost you more in the long run to have it fitted.

Under $200 bucks, is that for the complete bolt including the striker assemble, extractor, and ejector components? I don't think it does.
