Question is.
Shooting 6.5 creedmoor 140 grain copper coated
Out of a 16-18” barrel.
Target is at 35 yards
Where should holes be appearing on paper 35yd out?

3-3.50” inches low gives you zero at 200yds.
I tend to think 3-3.5” HIGH at 35yds =zero@200yds.
Which is closer to correct? Thanks for your time!

That is the type of yardage where sight height actually matters. What are you running bolt/semi and what are you trying to accomplish?

Edited to answer your question, neither are close to correct.

I will add this, if you are running a semi auto platform with ~2" sight height, you'll be ~.75 low at 35 with a 100 yard zero and ~.25 low at 35 with a 200 yard zero. If you are running a bolt with say a 1.5" sight height the differences will be less exaggerated but you get the idea. You should not be 3" in either direction at 35 yards.

Using a bolt. Zero in at 200’yards using only a 35 yd target. Trying to see the trajectory from muzzle out to 500 yards.

You need to input the correct bore to optic centerline offset into your ballistic calculator and it will tell you. If you don't have one use the free one from JBM Ballistics.

I'm all for helping a guy who's stuck or has trouble understanding any aspect of this craft but they gotta have skin in the game. They have to show some basic understanding and some attempts at solving the problem when asking for help.

I don't know why anyone would help a douchebag like the op who comes in and says "just give me the answer, I'm not even going to put in any effort".

I know a guy just like that. I tried to help him learn how to reload but stopped helping when it became clear that he would text me with every single question he could think of instead of even trying to work it out. I eventually stopped answering the phone when it was him and he faded away.
