So as title suggests, I'm trying to figure out where to attach a sling would be best or most reliable for my intended use. I don't compete and all I need a sling for is for walking/hiking to and from my hunting spot. Shouldn't be more than a mile. Rifle weight is roughly around 14 pounds.

Ok, so I know I could find just about any type of MLOK hardware where that can attach a sling upfront. How do I go about doing this in the back. My buttstock has a piece of rail on the bottom but I don't think it's as sturdy as I'd like it. What other way can you think of?

I am probably going to purchase a VTAC or one from BFG.

While I understand you’re not competing, regardless of your slings can be much more useful then just carrying your rifle around. Point being is it’s already attached to the rifle so why not make use of it, particularly when looking to enhance the stability, durability and sustainability of positions other than prone.

As for attachment points. An MLOK QD to the support side is an easy fix and add a another QD to the firing side...bam, boom, bing! You’re Done!

Also check out ESD slings, same style to the VTAC and BFG better better.

I checked out LUTH AR and it turns out they have some attachments for their buttstocks which allow for sling attachments. Pretty sure I'll be purchasing something from them.

As far as ESD slings go, it seems they only have one type of sling to offer but is out of stock.
