Hey guys, going to take my 6.5 creed hog hunting in a couple weeks. And want some opinions on which factory ammo would be best? I hunt in California so shots can be long ~400 yards (last weekend I took one at 375 yards with 300 Win Mag) and I do not reload. I have to use LEAD FREE ammo which really seems to limit my options.

    So far I’ve seen the
    120 gr. Hornady GMX
    120 Gr. Hornady full boar
(Not sure the difference between the 2? Maybe someone can help)
    127 gr. Barnes LRX

Any other suggestions are welcomed as well as opinions on those 3.
    Rifle specs:
SRS Covert 24” 6.5 Creed barrel
Currently shooting Prime 130 gr for practice

    Thanks!

The difference between the two Hornady lines you mentioned is the velocity (powder maybe). The super performance line has a listed muzzle velocity that is 125fps faster. I think any that you listed would work. You could buy a box of each and see which one groups the best from your gun but for hunting purposes you could just pick any/or and you would make kills to 400yds if you do your part. Absolute accuracy isn't the end all when it comes to practical hunting. Your prime ammo would work plenty good on pigs.

Thanks for the insight. I would love to use my Prime ammo since it already groups great, however I believe it's aead core and I need to use lead free ammo in CA.

I have used the 120 gr. Hornady GMX and was very happy with it. At 100 - 200 yds it was essentially the same zero I use with my preferred 143 gr. Hornady ELX.
