I'm considering 300 win mag, 300 Norma, 300 PRC, or 338 LM. Usage will be stroke toy, range toy, maybe hunting in the future. I plan on shooting this from between 100 to 1000 yards, maybe beyond if I can find the place to do so. I'm leaning towards 300 win mag.

.338 is a great round. Not sure if your shoulder or budget can handle it though. For energy 338LM will leave 300 Norma in the dust, but for a cost..338 Lapua Magnum.

Have an MRAD with 260, 300 NM and 338 LM. As a handloader and in today's enviroment I'd go 300 WIn Mag as it would fit your needs as you outlined and you can get rolling immediately right out of the gate with factory rounds and/or reload components at reasonable cost.
