Which buffer, spring, tube combo

I have read plenty about Slash's buffer and Im going to take the bait. But what I dont know, is which one do I need.

Also, I am taking the bait on Tubbs flat wire springs. Unless you can convince me otherwise, the claims seem very convincing. But again, Im not sure which one I need.

Also, is there much of a difference between the tubes on the market besides mil-spec or commercial? Do different companies make better tubes, do they all use the same core supplier? I have a VLTOR EMod stock right now on a commercial tube. Felt much tighter than any others SOG Armory had available. It has ran just fine, but Im thinking of going to a fixed stock instead and was not sure if there was a difference as there is in the adjustable stock tubes.

What Im after with this venture is mainly to make my gun more durable, run better, cause less wear and tear on itself. Thats pretty much it, recoil is not a big deal for me, just would like to do what I can to make my gun run smoother. Thanks for helping out a noob.

Update!
Forgot to state that this is for an Armalite AR10.

Re: Which buffer, spring, tube combo

from what i have read, just tell slash and he has everything you need. he has stated he uses armalite springs i think. wait and see what he says to use and he may have it all too

Re: Which buffer, spring, tube combo

Im retarded, I did not notice it said do not use flat wire springs on heavybuffers.com

Anyone know why? I have not gotten a response back yet.

Re: Which buffer, spring, tube combo

I don't know. It seems you want "absolute reliability" and for it to "run smoother". These are polar opposites in gas guns.

If you want absolute reliability, you run the loosest chamber, max gas pressure coming back into the carrier group, hottest factory loads, etc.
This is not the set up of minimal recoil impulse, i.e., the "run smoother" folks are after. From my perspective, it all boils down to sight recovery time. Can you repeatedly squeeze off a second shot at 200 yds. under .25s? (and get the hit? Not aim once, fire twice. Aim once, good hit, aim twice, good hit -- sight recovery)
If you can't tell, I'm from the "run smoother" camp. Those tenths of seconds add up in competition.

Re: Which buffer, spring, tube combo

I just thought the buffer and spring would help it out a notch. Im not looking for AK reliability, just something to make it less hard on itself. My main reason for wanting it to "run smoother" is I have been reading more about how 308 ARs are hard on scopes because of the slamming recoil. I was wanting it to "run smoother" to lessen the possibility of this happening. Just before turkey day I went shooting and a fellow Armalite shooter showed me his Leupold that had a broken crosshair after just 250rds ontop his Armalite. So I assumed if I soften the recoil with either a Tubbs spring or slash buffer, I would lessen the possibility of causing bullshit damage to my rifle or optics. Thats all, Im not a competition shooter. Im not really worried about .25secs double taps. I can shoot just fine, Im not wanting the buffer or spring for my sake. Simply for my rifle's well being. Nothing more.
