Which Factory 700P trigger is this?

I just picked up a NOS 700P from another member. Date coding shows it built June 1994. Is this a 40X trigger?

The 40X triggers had a pull weight adjustment screw accessible on the bottom of the trigger. It doesn't appear yours has that screw.

OK. But built in 1994 predates the X-Mark, right?

No you can see it and access it w/o removing the barreled action.
The mechanics of it were it had a cone tip that engaged a ball bearing that pushed against the spring. Just a way of turning the corner so to speak.

So what is mine? No adjustment screw that I can see.

It's the standard Walker style 700 trigger. If you remove if from the stock it will have three screws. Two on the front and one on the rear. Good trigger when tweaked.

Thanks. Is this tweaking something I can do with the screws and a trigger pull gauge, or more in-depth?

Got it. Thanks for your insight! Trigger feels nice but heavy; it's 5# on my cheapo Wheeler gauge.

With proper stoning and a few other tweaks a crisp 2# trigger can be had.
