which model?

Back when i was about 13 my granddad gave me a older remington in 243.What im trying to remember is what was the model number.if i remember correctly i think the locking lugs were on the rear of the bolt.I do remember the lugs were evenly spaced around the bolt 3 in each set,maybe they were on the front of the bolt and had another on the bottom towards the back,shit i cant remember.
I guess age is catching up with me (42).Anyway if anyone can understand what the hell im talking about from my description let me know.I have a daughter who is taking a interest in hunting and would like to maybe find one of these old rifles.

He had a 788 that was also made in 222, 308, 44 mag, 30-30 and probably more.
They are very accurate rifles at a bargain price.

thanks alot i thought that was the model but i wasnt sure.
Anyone know how hard these are to find.
