Hi Guys

Tried mounting my Vortex PST 6 x 24 x50 on my new 6.5 Grendel 24" with Nightforce rings I took off my Rem 700.
Shooting will only be from a bipod out to 600-1000 yds
The scope was too low and too far back.

Am aware of the choice of quick release cantiliver mounts in the $200 to $250 range.
Nightforce sell more of a fixed type in 2 models.

I think I trust a fixed mechanism more than a quick release??

Any other ideas?
Thanks

For QD, LaRue is the gold standard. ADM's take several rounds to settle in.

For fixed, the AAD Mount is one of the best options out there, and they include a level built into the base, as well as MOA cant options. The NF Unimounts are also of very high quality, but I think the AAD is the best fixed mount for the price, since you get Made in USA + MOA cant + scope level all in one, with a very positive locking system to the rail.

Have used both Aadmounts and ADM with 20 MOA for longer range shooting, as well as std ADM Recon and Bobros. If you picked a Bobro, which are excellent mounts as Drifter mentioned, I'd get the newer version with the nut for rings on top of the ring, rather than below. They send a shortened Allen wrench with old style to get needed clearance, but they're kind of a PITA to mount, but secure once trued up. They're all good, and I use them all, but personal preference has migrated towards the two lever ADM Recon for most AR applications. If you don't mind the slight weight penalty, the Aadmounts are near bulletproof and the 20 MOA extends the practical range of your scope another couple hundred yards.

I have LaRue, ADM, Bobro and my latest addition is an American Rifle Co., M10 QD-L. Ironically, I just installed it on my Sabre 6.5 Grendel PMR yesterday. I haven't taken it out to the range yet. However, my initial impression is that it's an outstanding, solid, and extremely well built & engineered mount. I bought the 30mm, 20MOA cant version, what's cool is that it has a built in bubble level. I'll have to follow up with a range report and return to zero capability.

Here's a review from BigJimFish...after reading this, I decided to cough up the coin (it set me back 3 Benjamins).
