Which one would you choose?

Re: Which one would you choose?

Sako Quad gets my vote. The TR has a woodstock and also you can't put it in centerfire stocks. The Sako Quad will also out run the Savage in accuracy any day. ADT.

Re: Which one would you choose?

Apples and oranges. Sako wins this matchup with ease. The Quad has a growing list of aftermarket parts available on the cheap and the only issue that I have with the Quad is that the magazines are expensive and a relative hassle to find.

The factory barrels, at least in my experience, have given me more than enough accuracy so I've stuck with'm.

rimfiretechnologies has accessories for the quad to fix it's weaker points.

Re: Which one would you choose?

I'm torn between some of these rifles too. I saw a Savage at the range today, and the owner was very happy with it. It was shooting great.

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a CZ452 Varmint. I remember handling the Savages and CZ at Gander Mt. last year, and the CZ just felt better in terms of build quality and smoothness.

Then I see the QUAD trainer thread here and get jealous. Where is the best place to buy a Sako Quad? I've only seen a few on gun broker than they're multi-barrel sets.

Re: Which one would you choose?

Well I made it to Houston and was able to check out the CZ452 Varmint, very very nice. As of right now it's the Quad, CZ and Savage in that order. I guess I'll pull the cord on one this coming week.

Re: Which one would you choose?

I own a cz 452 varmint and hands down i grab it out of the safe first.. Yes i reach right over my tricked out 10/22 for my cz..
I even owned a kimber and sold it because i shoot my cz more..
Look at a yodave trigger kit for around 20bucks and you won't be sorry...

Re: Which one would you choose?

IME building a "trainer" has been a large dump of time and cash trying to make a .22lr be effective to adapt range time into a CF rifle. In the end, your better off taking your primary rifle, running around and dry firing the piss out of it.

As far as a .22 rimfires, from my experience the price points followed the perforance and I expected way more out of the Savage. The CZ452 with a gritty trigger (after work) still shot better. The Quad shot best and alittle better with a Lilja. It does well against a few Annies and I am happy with it.

Re: Which one would you choose?

I have a Sako Quad Varmint. My wife thought it was quite expensive with Manners stock. Now, about a year later, she has her own Quad with custom stock
