My local shop has a case or two of old school Smiths with little more than night table wear.... Look past the M1A to the sweet Smiths of various calibers and sizes..... Some of my favorite smiths that inhabit my safe...... The 27-2 is a bit of a beast but so finely made the effort of carrying the weight is worth it. The 36 is often the quick go to carry but not suitable for big crazy wild animals encountered in the woods. I needs to get me an older Model 19 like as was carried on MSG duty just for the nostalgia and because its a great do everything, and do it well, gun.
