Which spares for a Rem 700 SPS Tac?

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any information or advice!

I have a Rem 700 SPS Tactical in .308 as my only precision rifle. Which spares should I stock? It is going to be my only precision rifle for a while, particularly while I save for a better optic, so I definitely want to build up a base of support for the thing.

But, with the new X-mark trigger and "ISS" (what is that? internal safety system?) I am not sure which parts to buy or who has them. It looks like Midway has mostly performance packages rather than replacement parts.

Thanks again and all the best,
Shinden

I can't reccommend anything for backup. Save the money you would spend on it. Brownells has a schematic for the 700 with clickable links to the parts if the need arises. I'm pretty sure yours is non ISS as was mine.

ISS? That's the infamous 'JLock.' I would buy a replacement bolt shroud and rid your rifle of that silliness.

As for parts, Remington's are pretty reliable. Oil and grease are great to have around. Maybe a spare extractor?

I agree!
