Hey Frank, can you hide a message somewhere on the site for a hacker to find? Like a false door that could only be seen if you knew the secret sauce to programming, and have a denial message appear that says something like "lick my balls you fucking virgin."

Nah, even better would be a pic of an A-10 Warthog, along with the caption "Everybody is gangster... until the sky starts farting"...

There's more than one type of DDoS attack. You're thinking of ping flooding but on a site that is driven by a forum it'd be a lot easier to choke the DB than the web service.

Most likely it's some disgruntled script kiddie that's running an exploit sniffer that's just trolling for an open door. Think brute force password hack meets library of known exploits.

LOL yes in fact I dismissed "flooding". Yes, the db can be vulnerable, especially if query construction is compromised. The gab hack was apparently an sql injection, exploiting a recent fubar commit by the ultra-competent company CTO. Smart people in charge! Point remains, there is recent elevated interest in dumping and doxxing non-socialist social sites. It won't matter if it was a junior high kid with a script. A scalp is a scalp.

I gotta say I don’t think SH is that interesting from a political standpoint, even for anti-gunners. Eg probably just someone mad because they got banned or they posted in the pit without their big boy pants on.
