Re: who else makes a compact spotter with mill ranging
I know Optolyth has a 30X eyepiece with a rangefinding reticle in it and Kruger Optical has their Lynx tactical spotter with an optional mildot reticle. Of course there's also the USO "Field Scope" that has optional mildot and MOA reticles available.
Re: who else makes a compact spotter with mill ranging
I don't know. I think Scott @ Liberty Optics mentioned it on his blog some time ago so you might want to check there for some more insight. Personally I'd probably exhaust all other options before I went with that spotter though.
Re: who else makes a compact spotter with mill ranging
I have a Kruger Lynx APR 14-50x.
It's a decent scope. From what I can gather they were built for a Navy Contract Submission, but failed the selection. The reticle is projected so it's battery dependent. It is visible in bright sunlight and adjusts low enough for night use. I do not believe it goes low enough to be NV compatible.
The optics are appropriately clear for the price range and are consistent with military optics I have used. They get a little hazy at maximum magnification, but at 30x it's just fine.
The biggest drawback is that it's HEAVY. I don't know of anyone selling them anymore and I don't know if Kruger still makes them.
Re: who else makes a compact spotter with mill ranging
Thanks guys I ordered the bushnell alot cheaper and seems like alot of guys are using them so we will see. I just want something somewhat packable but with the ranging capability. I was thinking about the Leupold but for the price difference and knowing how much it will probley get used I just went with the lesser. It would be nice if I had a extra 5 grand laying around for a Zeiss but Ill keep dreaming.

When collapsed it is pretty small and easy to lug around with you. </div></div>
