I had a HK USP Tactical in .45. It was a very accurate pistol, very well balanced pistol, good trigger.
I am used to shooting my 1911s and when I shot the USP it had a recoil impulse that shot through my wrist, nothing super painful just more of an annoyance. So I ended up selling it because I enjoyed my other pistols more and I dont like keeping guns that I dont shoot.
Im sure you'll enjoy it, happy shooting!
I've got a compact and full sized with a threaded barrel. I like them and they are flawless in eating everything. I prefer 1911's to anything but for a half plastic gun I like them a lot.
Controls and ergos are very 1911ish so running them feels natural. Only complaint would be they are a little blocky but they fit my grip pretty good.
I still have my 1911's but each needed a beaver-tail grip safety so I do not get hammer bite / draws blood. They definitely have a unique feel unlike anything else. My Glocks , FNP & HK all fit without mods so no hammer bite but the HK fits my hand the best of all the tactical Tupperware guns.
I have several different HK USP pistols, including a couple .45 (a Match, Expert and a standard) as well as other USP and USPc pistols. They are truly excellent in every respect with the exception of: a) the cost of mags, parts, etc.; and 2) limited aftermarket support for the pistols as compared to some other platforms.
That said...I've never stopped (nor will I ever stop) being a self-proclaimed HK-o-phile!

Enjoy your new pistol! I hope it serves you well. </div></div>
If you think HK mags are overpriced and hard to get try finding FNP or FNX / .45 magazines. They never were available in great quantity and right behind HK for pricing. The difference is HK actually makes mags and FN talks about it!
My ct model 45 is a pleasure to shoot. The first time firing resulted in solid hits. It fits me well and is extremely accurate and controllable. Still getting used to the mag release though.
it took me owning and selling 3 glocks before i got smart and bought a hk 45 ct v1. best decision i have ever made. it is the one that sits on the bed side table and goes with me to investigate the bumps in the night! now i just need one for my wife so she will leave mine alone!
I still like my Glock's and a Glock 30 is my carry gun. The HK just "feels" perfect, like a new pair of shoes that just "fit".
Pistol selection has come a LONG way in the last decade with lots of options and few bad choices.
awesome gun... Wish capacity bit higher, but still respectable at 12 rounds. they fit my hand very well. being a lefty and having a lefty safety available and the ambi mag lever are pluses.
