Who needs some stationery?

On occasion I like to send a thank you card or a note and it is my habit to use a real ink fountain pen, cursive writing and stationery with an American flag.

Recently I ran out of the Crane and Company cards I had with an American flag. I contacted them and they said they no longer make them........WTF?

A search on the internet only showed a lot of kind of "over done" cartoon like patriotic representations.

I tend toward the simple and classic.

On Etsy I finally found Norlu Press.

Just received my cards. They are perfect.

While proofing my order I learned Norlu Press was founded by a WWII vet and the present owner is a DS/DS vet.

I mentioned I also served DS/DS time frame and received some sweet USMC cards

Don't all you cheap bastards go there now expecting free stuff from them but if you want some cool stationary from a veteran owned business order up some goodness.

Does the above violate any of your vendor laws?

Im not associated with this company other than as a customer.

I found a product or service that I really like and posted here thinking other members may also like that product or service.

Im assuming the sharing of knowledge is okay.

Now if I worked for Norlu and was trying to head hunt sales off your back Im thinking that would be a violation of your policies.

Please advise as I will remove thread if this is in violation.

Kind of sensitive since @buffalowinter s joke thread about some over priced safes.

In his case he was just alerting members to something he saw, ie sharing knowledge, and not trying to monetize your platform for his own gain.

Im hoping there is an allowance for one and a violation for the other.

Perhaps its a Canadian thing from my PEI Mom and Sydney, NS Dad........nahhhh, its called "proper" and I'm trying to get my kids to be also......

Sadly schools don't teach children cursive anymore, nor do I think my kids could format a proper personal or business letter.

Nice touch, I like it. Seems quaint now, but back in grade school I got the award for the neatest handwriting, LOL. I always took pride in my cursive writing. Of course, over the last 15-20 years my writing has become noticeably sloppier. Getting older plus everything is now typed has taken it’s toll.

Can your children 'read' cursive? Kudo's if they can, and more kudo's for you teaching them how things REALLY are done. Just because they don't teach it anymore, doesn't mean that it's not needed. I remember the moment in middle school when I stopped writing cursive.

Some chick asked me why I wrote everything in cursive and that was the last I wrote in cursive. If I had been in Eden she probably would have handed me an apple.

Getting pissed that my kids are not being taught cursive I now write every note in cursive.

Not a lot of "style" in my hand, it's kind of boring and blocky because I'm still thinking about the form of each letter but it's cursive and looks good enough.

They can read some of the cursive but only write it in an imaginary way. Taught correctly it is very disciplined.

I tell them they are not being taught cursive with the idea that then they won't be able to read the Declaration of Independence nor the Constitution than people will be able to lie about what is in it.

When you come across ledgers from the last century or correspond with people that were grade schoolers in the 1950s than you see some beautiful hand writing.
