Looking to get a brown prec. repainted, wanted to get it repainted to achieve the same textured finish as McMillan, who won't do it. Who uses the Polane T and can get that kind of bumpy finish?? Thanks Dick

If short-bus' texture is anything like that on a Manners (and I suspect it is), then it will definately be less "grippy" than a factory painted Mcmillan. I'm pretty certain that McMillan adds something to their Polane-T for additional texture.

With that said, I think Chad Dixon's stocks appear more textured than a Manners, and more akin to a McMillan.

We can do it. I use Polane T+ for all our non automotive type stock finishes. Mine has been custom blended to color match Ceracote tones. We can also "spiderweb" the texture if you like.

The texture is just paint droplets. The droplet size is controled by low air pressure, paint thickness and material flow. The higher the air and the lower the material flow the smaller the texture size will be.

Lower pressure, thick paint and higher material flow

Slightly higher presure, thiner paint and slightly less material flow

Awesome work sir! One question about this particular item: how well does the Polane T+ hold up to the extreme temperatures that a suppressor can reach?

This is a really nice pattern!

Re: Who paints a glass stock with texture like McMilla

The can was done in C-kote as a demo for the new line of suppressors coming from Mac Brothers here in Sturgis. This was for last year's shot show.

Polane is what we use on stocks only.

Thanks for the praise.
