So is the barrel only spiraled under the hand guard (or are my eyes so bad that I can't see the spiral/flutes in the picture)?

Great rig by the way! And very cool name to boot. If they make a longer version, they should call it the "Odin".

The whole barrel is fluted for the production version. Pictured above is the prototype.
