because she controls the check book and debit card lol i tried to get her involved in the movement and failed.
I am lucky my wife will give me the What do you need 2000 bullets for and I just tell her its for the Zombie's aka Liberals and she is good with it. And after a week or so when the powder shows up I tell her I cant trhow the bullets down range, after 22 years she just shakes her head and tells me the men in black will be visiting at 0400.
Me and my wife went through this exactly once. She started and I told her " well, since I work every damn day, pay aaaalll the damn bills and still manage to buy you a metric fuckton of useless shit. Next time you feel like getting in my ass about spending my money make sure your bags are packed and on the front porch". We haven't had a gun related problem since. Of course I've got her addicted to guns now also.
I take my wife to the gun store. I go everywhere with her. You guys really get dragged around Bed Bath and Beyond for 6 hours, just to let your wife off the hook when you want to look at stuff? Plus, she makes most of the money, and I never buy anything there except One Shot. Its also fun to make fun of the fucktards with her.
My ex-wife didn't mind me spending money, as long as it was on her. Me and my hobbies could go drown in the lake as far as Lady MacBeth was concerned.

If your wife is the jealous type you might consider putting up photos of beautiful women holding rifles in your reloading room. Maybe that will get her interested in your hobbies.
If she doesn't take an interest in your hobbies after putting up photos of nice looking ladies with rifles, at least you will have a well decorated reloading room.

PS: My father wasn't much on hunting or shooting but he really loved his music and stereo equipment.

She usually made me my favorite dessert which was cherry pie. That night, I ate humble pie.

She doesn't question what I buy most of the time (unless it's over a couple grand), and when it is expensive I just inform her of what I am intending to buy (not ask permission). A common courtesy that has led to a fairly broad acceptance that I buy what I need, when I need it...not just because I want it.

It's funny: she asked me when I got my Labradar and how much it cost. I told $350 (a little less than reality) but her reply was "Holy Crap! That's expensive!" I just smiled inside.

I like the revenge buying aspect they finagle. I bought a new PU mid November, asked if she'd like to drive it, no, but we could drive it to lunch, most expensive place in town of coarse. Halfway through lunch I get, let's look into a new couch and recliner set.

She over estimates the costs of things in my safe. She thought all my rifles were worth like 10,000 a piece. LOL. I wouldn't have one that would bring a quarter of that. Separate accounts, we both pay bills, we don't ask about each others purchases.
She really is a good one, I wasn't joking about her pulling most of the weight right now.

The other thing you can do to upset a jealous wife who doesn't like you spending money on really worthwhile things like guns, ammunition, powder, brass, primers, bullets and hunting gear is to play some videos of some really hot ladies who are gun nuts.
