Why no love for the Remington 700 Long Range?

Or, if he was like me, he picked one up, dropped a Timney trigger in it and is enjoying himself at the range as we speak with well under 1moa groups and banging steel way out there.

Look, I’m not remingtons fan boy, but you guys sound like the poor kid at the dance who got dumped and so now hate all women. 🤣😘

Yes, I have been dumped by Big Green before and I'm salty AF about it. Odds are a Rem rifle will be a POS. Would you still take that girl home from the dance if there was a 80% chance she had a dick?

I used to believe the issues weren't real or as bad as some claim.
That all changed with a Rem 700 Gen2 5R chamber issue.

I'm approximately 6 ft 1 and 225lbs but couldn't budge the bolt on that rifle, and it ended up costing me money due to the lack of support from Remington.
That's what put the brakes on for me.
I would absolutely love to see them come back even stronger.
Maybe they will return in a better light, but for now the issues are real.

Hey, I’m not saying at all that the problems some have had aren’t real. I’ve seen some shit too. Also, I still hold Remington responsible for the abandonment of some great cartridges. For me, the dropping of the .357 Maximum and the .260 rem products were just stupid, to name only a couple that they jettisoned because their bean counters couldn’t understand how markets work.

Their flagships were the 700 and the 870. Half of new 870s need the breech bolt assembly filed down just to get a spent shell to extract. While your at it might as well replace the extractor that will definitely break. The 700s issues have been outlined well here. The 597 22wmr was a disaster that would never function and they wouldn't warranty. Why do you guys hope this shut company to emerge again? They have burned so many customers I hope they close their doors and never reopen.

Because their problems are all fixable

The 308win SPS varmint i had was a very good rifle and very accurate with multiple bullet weights.
It didnt have any extraction issues, the action was really smooth for the limited amount of rounds through it and cycles and believe it of not the scope base screw mounting holes were actually straight.
Once i was ready to build a rifle from that action and pricing all that would need to be done to have it blue printed, side bolt releasey added, better extractor and the bolt face bushed it was pretty clear i woukd just get an action that had all of that sorted from the start.

They can be exceptional once worked over by folks like TacOps and many others im sure that is a fact that cant be disputed but if they were great to begin with all of that extra work wouldnt be needed.

Because they've been around for so long, and so many own their firearms.
Sometimes good gun companies make bad products, just look at all the issues with Sig Sauer and yet they get it fixed.
I think Remington can and will come back stronger.
I hope so...
