Wiggy's Sleeping Equiptment

Re: Wiggy's Sleeping Equiptment

I have a few have used them from -20 to 90 degrees in all conditions between. I have climbed into it wet (not by choice)and woke up in them wet I say these things only to let you know I have really used it.

I would say they on the norm sleep a little cooler than other bags with the same rating (which I like) Like any nylon covered bag they are cold when you first get in them which can be compensated for by wearing sock or fleece. They do warm up quickly.

Once I warmed my wet one up it slept as well as the dry nights and was dry by morning. Also the construction of the bag leaves you the ability to shift the insulation inside it to some degree which can be helpful in differing weather conditions by allowing a greater range of comfort with one bag.

For the price of a Wiggys I think they are very competitive bags.

Re: Wiggy's Sleeping Equiptment

codyb,

One of the best things I have ever learned in the backcountry is to take a nalgene or similar type water bottle. Boil some water put it in the water bottle, make sure the lid is on tight and can't come off, then place it in your sleeping bag, not only will it warm your bag up, but will keep you warm throughout the night.

One night my thermometer was buried at -20, so don't know how cold it really was, I was in a -20 sleeping bag, and I got so warm during the night that I had to vent my sleeping bag that night!!

Thanks troops, all agreed Wiggy's sleeping bags are "good stuff"
However I was interested in the comforter he sells.

Jong

I have a buddy who would always have to take two bottles one round and the other square. He'd drink from the round and the square one was his urinal on the sub zero nights. He also claimed it was great at keeping him warm.
