Hi All,

Did some searching around, but didn't see an answer to this question specifically. I just got my PVS-14 and want to see if this mount set up will work.

I have a single hole ACH for a helmet. I am looking at a Wilcox L4 G19 mount and want to use the Wilcox dovetail "J" arm with the on/off switch. I can't tell if the G19 mount accepts the dovetail "J" arm interface.

Any help or other suggestions are appreciated. This would come out to about a $500.00 mount. I really don't need or desire to spend anymore than that if I don't have too. Breakaway feature is nice, but I don't think I'll be embussing or debussing many vehicles wearing this setup.

TIA

The short answer is yes.....but, some of the less popular, and less high speed looking mounts from Wilcox can be had for $50 on ebay and get the job done nicely. For a single PVS-14 with no intention of ever running duals, I would get the INVG if I was going to spend that kind of money.

EBay has some good prices on used genuine mounts. Bid on people who have good feedback and look at photos carefully. I came out ahead using eBay for the dovetail mount.

I use the INVG. It looks big, bulky and heavy, but it's really light and has 100% range of motion, and instead of swinging back over the helmet, it swings straight up and then over, protecting it better from doorways and walls. Shorter throw too. It uses, ideally, the dual dovetail mount --can do away with that POS J-Arm (the bane of my existence in the army). You can take off the second dovetail if you want and it gives you better sight out of your dark eye. Not sure if there's a more stable mount than INVG, doesn't even need the bungee, but if you have it, use it.

Works great on the Crye Precision soft cover too (a must have IMHO). For $150, it's like wearing a ball cap with NODs, never wear the helmet unless I need to anymore.

If you MUST use a J-Arm, the Wilcox dovetail J-Arm is the only one I'd even consider, but your mount needs to accept it. I can't recall if your mount uses the dovetail or not, you need to check. But if you need a regular milspec J-Arm with standard bayonet mount, not dovetail, PM me. I have a couple I don't need. But if you get a new mount altogether, look at that INVG very hard indeed.

Roger that. As much as I like making money, you can save some serious coin getting mounts off ebay.

Thanks for the feedback. I really like the Wilcox stuff, but I went a little more low-speed for now. I got a new Norotos USGI titanium mount for cheap. I'll try that and the "j" arm combo for now. Are there any beefier "j" arms with a bayonet mounting?
I'll probably do something with shock cord too. Anyone know where to just get a few feet and the end hooks?

One of my friends didn't like the INVG, and steered me towards a TATM that accepted dovetail mounts. I like the Norotos Dual Dovetail adapter since it makes it a breeze to switch the PVS-14 from one eye to the other.

A surplus TATM with the mod armory dovetail arm. Good combo for a budget mount.
