My dad and I are thinking about doing a wildcat .376 Steyr necked down to 7mm and changing the shoulder angle to 40*. We cant find much info if a similar project has been completed before. We would like a long neck around the 0.300" -0.350" mark so maybe bump the shoulder back a little also, we don't want the bullet taking up powder space. Dad has a Defiance Diviant action that this will be shot out of, he'll need to get a new bolt made because of the bolt face difference . Brass is only made by Hornady and readily available from several online retailers. We will likely have to turn the necks especially if we bump the shoulder back to give us the long neck we want.
We plan to use Berger 180gr Hybrid Target, CCI-BR2s and Re-17 or similer powder
Who would you recommend to make reamer? Thinking Dave Manson.
Any tips/tricks in doing wildcats? Neither of us has done anything like this before.
