Gunsmithing will the bolt work?

iam wanting to build a 260. i have a chance to buy a cheap rifle for the action it is chambered in 300 saum. will that bolt work? or will i have to buy a new one? the 260 rim is .473 and the 300 rim is .534. thank you.

It's not going to work as a straight swap. The boltface can be bushed and a Sako or M16 type extractor installed.

It would be cheaper in the long run to start out with an action with the correct bolt face...not to mention the feeding issues...the short mags are completely different.

If I had a chance to buy a 300 SAUM cheap, I would keep it a 300 SAUM...great round.
