Hey guys,

I have a new Wilson Combat 300 blackout, 14.7" barrel with permanently attached Whisper brake/adapter. It ran fine with supersonic, but not with the subsonic. It would eject the spent round, but would not chamber the next round in the magazine. I was using 220gr Remington ammo, and was running a Wilson whisper 30 cal suppressor. Any ideas?

Had a similar problem in a 16" barrel 300 Blackout. Glockdan's buffer weight suggestion was the first one I was going to follow, but I happened to have a spare buffer spring on hand. Started by trimming about .5" off this with a dremel, tried a few rounds, repeat. After the 3rd trim (1.5") my cycle problem with the 220s disappeared. I know some guys frown on this sort of tinkering, but worked for me and I didn't have to spend time/money ordering different weight buffers since I didn't have any on hand.

I ran into that problem when I used that same barrel for a build. It would short stroke even with a suppressor after a couple subsonic rounds. It ran the supersonic ammo great suppressed/unsurpressed, but would not run at all using subsonics with out the can. I tried everything to get it to work, but in the end i ended up opening up the gas port a little and it runs cherrry now.
From what I read anything under 16" for the 300 blk should be using a pistol length gas system. Where as the wilson combat uses the carbine length system, that might have changed though. It's been a year since I installed that barrel.
