Hey gang. First post (other than my introduction) here and would like some wisdom.

I have a brand new Savage 110 Storm in 308. I have cycled the bolt empty quite a bit, lubed it up, cleaned it up, lubed it more, and it feels great without ammo in the mag.

But when loading the 4 round mag, the thing just has issues. Out of 10x mag attempts at feeding the chamber (40 rounds), it jammed 37 of the 40.

I tried slowly, quickly, aggressively, babied it, all the different angles.

I have attached some pics of what it's doing.

Sometimes it doesnt seem to capture the round and just launches it forward (kind of ends up "stove piping" if thats a thing on a BA).

Sometimes it sends it nose down and catches the brass. Anyhow, some advice would be good.

PS: I'm new to bolt actions, so forgive me if i'm leaving out important details.

Edit: I'm using Remington 150gr CoreLokt

    Thanks!

Would you mind loading up the mag and taking a picture of how the cartridges are sitting against the feed lips.

If you think you could use another Mag getting another one would be a good check.

I'm thinking what Alabusa wrote but I wanted to se if there was something else obvious before bending on the feed lips.

The round is popping up out of the mag instead of sliding out in a forward motion. Try squeezing the lips of the mag together as to hold the round in better. Go slow and not over tighten the lips of the mag.

Gotcha. so just squeeze them in a bit so as to add a bit more tension. I'll give that a shot.

Here are some pics: (you can see how scratched up the round is now)

Okay. Ot does look like the front of the feed lips need to be bent inward just a little on each side. A little at a time.

Seems to have helped a little bit. 50/50 now. Will try bending in a bit more and see if it helps.

Just curious, with this mag, can i load the rounds top down (like an AR platform magazine) or should they be slid in from the front? Noob question.

Ok, so it seems to have helped quite a bit. I'm getting a much higher rate of succeess chambering (about 15/20 successful feeds).

I'm definitely going to look into a new magazine for this and/or play with this one a bit more until im confident in it.
