Wonder if optics-trade.eu is somewhere trustable for scope/accessories?

Saw a good deal on their site, but not sure if they are trustable for this kind of valuable product?

Their website looks legit to me. As I haven't dealt with them before, don't want to spend thousands but receive a used/fake item.

Thanks.

I have bought several items from them, one of which was Leica Geovid HD binoculars. No issues at all. They accept Paypal.

There is one other site: optics-world.nl that I would stay away from.
It also lists very good prices, but the owner is not trustworthy.
I am still waiting for an Atlas bipod from him - over a year now. I will never receive it, I guess.
The payment is by direct bank transfer, not Paypal or credit card, so that there is no turning back.

There is a thread on a U.K. forum called the stalking directory that talks extensively about optics-world-nl and poor service. Threaten legal action and you will get a refund very quickly.

Hi,

I would proceed with caution due to the possibility of legal and manufacturers issues.

For example...

Nightforce, Vortex, Sightron, etc etc have certain products that are exported to Optics Trade under an approved export license. That export license specifically states they are not to be "re-exported" to any other country including the USA.

Call the manufacturer with that serial number and you are probably shit out of luck with any repair/warranty work.

Sincerely,
Theis

Well, keep your fingers crossed. I just ordered an Era-Tac from Optics Trade.

If I purchased it from Eurooptic, it would have cost me $526.53. My total at Optics Trade was $358.90. I saved $167.63.

I made the purchase on my Amex so I have some protection. I guess we’ll see what happens.

Should I expect some kind of import tax after the fact?

Yeah, their price is good. I got mine about 3 weeks after they shipped, all good.

Optics trade is one of the largest European optics retailers and totaly legit , as many noted offers great pricing on many scopes , as some noted some manufacturers do not allow re-export (in part policy but in many cases due to US ITAR) that is why Optics Trade lists very high prices on scopes like NF where that is an issue , but its an issue of manufacturers running 20th century practices where they limit where retailers can sell as far as i know at present that goes for NF and Minox , not for Sightron or Vortex .

Nice. I’m expecting a knock-off Chinese clone for that price. I’ll be very happy if it’s legit. No extra taxes or fees?
I would say the local retailer r distributor charged too much for it. Totally legit. I paid small amount of tax but comparing to save hundreds dollars to the local price, you can ignore that.
