I haven’t posted much on this forum. I already have two bolt action sniper rifles (7MM Allen Magnum and 338 Edge). I‘d like to get an AR chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor that I can use for hunting out to 600 - 700 yards.
With that in mind, I am considering the Wilson Super Sniper 6.5 Creedmoor, 20” barrel, suppressed with their Whisper Suppressor, topped with a Nightforce NX8 2.5X20 50mm F1. I’m thinking about reloading using Lapua brass, 140 grain Berger Elite Hunter bullets, and H4350 powder.
1. Since I’d like to hunt with this gun suppressed, with a 20” barrel will this be too heavy? If I went to a lighter Wilson AR I could save 1.5 pounds.
2. If I reload with the bullet slightly off the lands, will this fit into the magazine and feed properly or will it be too long?
3. Is there another optic I should consider?
Thanks in advance for all your replies!
