I know this is primarily a long rifle site / forums but, I've read Lot's of things on here that amaze me at the cumulative knowledge base, so here goes.
I have a Smith & Wesson Model 686-3, it's what some (even on S&W sites) call Midnight Black Stainless, supposedly a limited production, .357 Magnum double-action revolver with a 6" barrel. Allegedly it's One of 2876 made in abt 1989, not in the original box but is in a S&W plastic handgun box.
Overall condition is approximately 90+%. It has the original wood grips and a set of rubber Pachmayr grips.
I'd like to know if the pistol is rare, or dime a dozen. Internet seems to indicate semi rare w/ a little added value to a collector.
I've done a little searching but can't find anything recent, and with today's crazy prices I don't know what to believe.
GB has two listed for abt $1150 & $1999 but no bids.
Long story but would like to trade for a quality 10.5" or 11.5" barrel AR pistol like Aero M4E1, but I don't know what a fair trade value for this might be.
Any info would be appreciated.
