Without having any experience with this product, I find it hard to believe what they are claiming. This bipod only attatches to a picatinny rail. It almost looks like something you would use for archery or a spaceship vs. a rifle... The only thing I am aware of that trully dampens recoil is a muzzle break. Of course a heavier barrel and rifle will do this to. I just don't see how this will dampen anything.

Re: X-Caliber X-VIP® Bipod

I work in the archery industry, have tons of experience with sims vibration products, and I can tell you this my rifle is already a fat little piggy currently tipping the scales at 12.5# soon to be almost 16#(w/AICS) I am not lugging that thing with all of the dampners getting snagged on everything very far, even from the safe to the armchair to watch Sniper or Shooter or some shit would be a long walk with that heavy beast.

Very good point. I' can't packing around something that weigh's almost as much as most long gun's do. At 12.5 pds., I would rather carry something else.

I could see a LEO using this much more than I could a Soldier that already has to carry to much as it is.

Thanks much,

Re: X-Caliber X-VIP® Bipod

To each their own I suppose.

I don't recall ever having the need for a bipod when shooting from an "aerial platform," but I suppose if you had such a need, then a bipod with "vibration dampeners" might just do the trick!

Heh I'm already at 18lbs without the can.
