Movie Theater X-Men: Days of Future Past

Not really my thing, but friends working on it say it's pretty good....

IMHO pretty good is a huge understatement. This movie was amazing, when you think about how good the movie is and the source material (X-men) you really have to compliment Bryan Singer. I mean i'm an X men fan, but i couldn't tell you the last one i saw in theaters other than the original from Bryan Singer. I mean given the material it was just phenomenal. Good acting all around, good premise, and a wonderful score. Some complaints might be that it lacks action, that was a breath of fresh air for me. I'm not wild about movies that really on relentless action to take up time. That said i do understand the complaint there were some things i wanted to see, but it doesn't hurt it at all.

I can't honestly say you'll like it Dogtown if your not into X-men but it's exceptionally good for an X-men movie.

That's good to hear! I'm not against it; hell, I go out and see nearly ever single VFX-driven film just to support my friends and to see what cool shit others are doing. It's a very small industry, so we all know each other or there's one or two degrees of separation. Having worked on a lot of really crappy movies, it makes all the difference to work on something that turns out to be really good.

And as I type this it's late on a Saturday night while I keep plugging away at a screen full of apes with M4s, ACRs and the occasional SAW.

Saw the movie yesterday and so far it is the best movie of the year. Great story telling, less action, focused more on the previous characters.

If there is another sequel(which we all know will happen) I wonder what will happen with the time travel paradox - go back and change one thing.......

I thought it was a very good movie. Some may not like it because of the "young" mutant characters.

HOWEVER, there is a very fast mutant that gets a "real time" scene of his speed. This brief few minutes may be movie perfection. The timing of the movie to do this, what he does in the scene, the results of the scene, and the selection of music could not have been better (IMO).

Magneto makes the film interesting. Too bad the "original" cast didn't have a more substantial amount of screen time.

Well worth viewing.

I really, really enjoyed the movie. The only thing I wasn't too crazy about was the lack of screen time for Bishop, but that's the comic book geek kid in me. Other than that, it was probably my favorite X-Men movie.

The Quicksilver scene at the Pentagon was worth the whole movie. He chewed up every scene he was in. Interesting, his comment about his mother having hung out with a guy that could manipulate anything metallic (duh, he's your dad). The Easter Egg after the credits, clearly Apocalypse is the major baddie for the next installment. Excellent film, however, I thought young Prof.Xavier's crises and subsequent bitch slap epiphany via Magneto was a weak plot device and unnecessarily hampered the movie's momentum. Oh, and ironically, Nixon saves the world.

Wow, that was so much better than I expected! I generally dislike time travel plots, but this was a really fun film overall and had me engaged from start to finish. The VFX work was outstanding too - some crazy difficult stuff in there.

The Quicksilver scene at the Pentagon was worth the whole movie.

Agreed!
