Finally have our dang Vector X caps done. Check 'em out! Live on the website now. I have been tagged a few times on this thread about there, so I hope they see this.

We 3D scanned the exterior of the binos so we could make an exact match for superior fit that matches the mold perfectly. They also have an optional ARCA foot for firm mounting on a Tripod.

We have an ARD version in the works. Need to test it's function first, but it will not be more than $150.

I got an early pair and they are excellent as usual. Perfect fit.

What's the minimum IPD with these caps?

Pretty smart you all made an Arca mounting provision on the cap. Hope it's sturdy

Yup! I have been running a prototype since March of this year and I'm really digging it. There have been some slight alterations in fit since then, but that geometry has remained the same. We have that option on a bunch of other bino cap models as well, not just for the vector guys.

So I’ve got the 12x DMRs.

Is anyone else that is left eyed dominate (or has issues seeing out of their right eye) having issues with the HUD or reticle?

I emailed Vectronix to see if they would (or were) considering doing a HUD in the left tube to help us out, and they said they hadn’t gotten any of this type of feedback to warrant an engineering study to see what it would take to do the switch.

I take it you were on the first list of pre-orders from Eueoptic as well?
I hate to tell you this, but be prepared to be underwhelmed.

I got the extenders early this year, I guess one of the first real production batches. They’re heavy as hell, affect the balance of the binos, and to me were only useful with the binos on a tripod. Other than at a PRS match with binos on a tripod they didn’t fit in any typical use case for me. I ended up selling them because they were two green paperweights.

For 14x or more magnification there are better products IMO than a binocular form factor, especially for hunters.

I don’t own a pair of these, but have been paying attention. That’s crazy they don’t range well through the extenders?

Side note: has anyone else noticed a dip in the lack of engagement on the Hide? Like we have less users in the tech forums who respond to stuff. 🤷‍♂️

For example, I would’ve expected someone to respond before me (who only has a casual interest in this unit).

Maybe it’s just the Summer Blahs.

Perhaps that is one of the reasons the range extenders have been delayed...

That said, someone at a local range was using the 12x with the extenders and had no problem ranging targets at 1400 yards. Conditions were good, bright with light cloud cover.

Extenders were totally uselss to my at nightforce ELR this year on the 12x vectors. Could only range about 1 out of 30 attempts with them on at those distances.
How far are you ranging and how often are you getting hits without the extenders? I want to be sure I'm understanding the problem correctly, especially in an ELR context.
I've just got the 12x DMR and range extenders. Doesn't range much beyond 100 yards with the range extenders fitted. Anyone else had this problem? Got to say, I'm pretty pissed given how much these things cost.
I am concerned with both these reports. I found no noticeable impact on ranging function with the extenders in the pre-production unit I have. Further, I found the range extenders to be a hugely value adding accessory. They really enable the spotting scope replacement function of the binos in a big way and were optically excellent. Hopefully these are isolated issues and not a design problem with the changes made to the range extenders in the production version. I think I'll shoot Philip an e-mail and see how things are going. The constantly fluctuating tariff situation has got to be a nightmare. I feel for businesses. Also, how is the optical performance of your extenders? Do you notice any added chromatic aberration, a degradation of resolution, or any performance issues near the edge of the image?

Lastly, did you try reversing which extender was on which barrel? I would be curious as the rangefinding components are only in one barrel of the binos and I wouldn't expect individual problems with manufacture of the extenders to effect both units.

Anywhere from 1000+ yards.
I've had the Vector X since release. The extenders I ordered at the same time, but they only arrived earlier this year. I took them to NF ELR in hopes of using them....but they failed WAY more than they worked on far targets. Take them off and they range fine. The extenders were clean, free of any debris, and screwed in appropriately and all the way in. I tried using them over 2 days on multiple stages but it was always the same result.

Appreciate hearing your perspective on this. What you describe is exactly my intended use case - the extra magnification (and useful t-shaped reticle) was intended to relieve me of carrying a separate set of binos or scope for spotting. An ideal setup when mounted on a tripod.

Very happy with the optical quality. I haven't noticed any particular aberrations, but haven't really scrutinised the optical performance in detail. I would say they're not quite in the same league as Swarovski, but then I wouldn't really expect them to be.

Changing battery, a factory reset and swapping the enhancers made no difference. I have a support ticket in with Vectronix, so will see what they say.
