Decided to build a Savage for one of my sons for Xmas, and upgrade mine (hey, no one's gonna buy it for ME)...

I like the XLR, but the website says under construction.

Did a search here, no recent threads I could find. Anyone own one? Price? Do they stock any, or are all custom order?

Yeah, I know it's short time, but...

Any options that won't break the bank (don't want to spend a grand each), on a chassis system for the short action that I can get my hands on?

    Thanks...

Don't know why the site is down.

Giving information based on hazy memory. I have a Savage 10 PC (non threaded muzzle). XLR was the only chassis system that was cheaper than 1k and had the bottom bolt release that I needed. Also the reviews on the chassis were great (after receiving and using mine I am very satisfied to say the least). I got the chassis, folder, and mag. This cost me something around 1k. Folder is little over $100 I think... Mags are $65 each I think.... Chassis is around 700-800 for the evolution (he has three variations)

Made to order I believe. My wait was 4 months. Kyle told me three and the delay was the 10 round AICS mag which was very popular. Very good customer service. FYI you have to call for the most current wait time.

I totally agree with FailtoObserve. Great chassis can be had for side or bottom release I waited a little over 4 months for mine but well worth the wait. Fit and finish was perfect and made my FCP-k into a perfect tack driver. If I remember it was just over $700 non folder. Huge thread on here regarding the chassis and Kyles excellent customer service.

Love my xlr, with the rail add ons, it is a far less expensive version of the army's new SWS. Luckily, I don t need night vision, but if I did, no problem.

    Hey Guys,

We do build our chassis for all of the Savage 10,11,12,13,15,110,111,112,113,115 ect. Side or bottom bolt release, right or left hand, whatever.

The pricing page of the website is not up put the prices next to all the individual products is accurate. Pricing will start at $750 for the Savage.

Our current lead time is about 5 weeks.

    Thanks Kyle...
Five weeks is reasonable. Just hoping I might have gotten "lucky" on having some common actions in stock, wanted to have it under the tree!

You can't go wrong with the XLR...I have a buddy with one and it is an absolutely solid chassis system. However, I wanted to throw this out there for any lurkers pulling information from this thread...Mcrees Precision also offers their chassis for the bottom bolt release savages with 4.4in action screw spacing (priced about the same as the XLR). I love my McRee's and it has been a tack driver. My only complaint is that you MUST run a stock pack...the cheek rest is horribly uncomfortable without one...YMMV. However, I would not hesitate to buy another McRee for a Savage.

You won't be disappointed with the XLR.
